The Embassy of Japan in Venezuela and the Metropolitan University (Unimet) presented the conference Structures, Buddhism, resilience and political culture to overcome moments of crisis in Japan, held in the Polar Auditorium of Unimet.

Professor Betsabe Hoffman, a specialist in Oriental Studies, Contemporary History of Asia Pacific, Contemporary History of Western Asia and Central Asia, International Relations in Eastern and Southern Asia, International relations of West Asia and Central Asia, Geopolitics of hydrocarbons in the Asian Continent, recently invited to Japan thanks to the program to promote human exchanges between Japan and Latin America and exposed Japan as an example of a Resilient Culture in the conference.

Dr. Rafael Arráiz Lucca, essayist, poet, historian, professor at the Universidad del Rosario in Bogotá, Colombia and Professor at the Metropolitan University in Caracas, talked about the teachings of Buddhism to overcome moments of crisis, followed by Aquiles Aldazoro, a student with outstanding performance, who spoke about the Yoshida Doctrine or Doctrine of Pacification.

A strategy adopted post World War II under Prime Minister Shigeru Yoshida was that economics was to be concentrated upon to reconstruct Japan's domestic economy while the security alliance with the United States would be the guarantor of Japanese security. The Yoshida Doctrine shaped Japanese foreign policy throughout the Cold War era and beyond.

Finally, the Ambassador of Japan in Venezuela, Kenji Okada, spoke about the key to the Japanese miracle of the postwar period. Japan's record period of economic growth between post-World War II era to the end of Cold War.
