IMPORTANT! [Erwin Miyasaka]: Lukas Podolski to play in Japan

The 31-year-old German international soccer player Lukas Podolski, currently in the ranks of Galatasaray, has announced his departure to the Japanese league, named Vissel Kobe, which will pay about 2.6 million for his transfer to the Japanese league.

Podolski confirmed that at the end of the season he is going to the team Vissel Kobe, belonging to the Japanese league. In addition, he posted this statement in Instagram.
The sporting career of the attacker has passed through various teams, such as: Cologne, Bayern, Arsenal, Inter and Galatasaray. So, the Japanese championship will be their fifth professional team.
Additionally, Podolski stated that his decision was not against Galatasaray, it is a decision taken to face new challenges, and he will explain in more details when it is time. Now he just wants to focus on helping Galatasaray and their fantastic fans.

Podolski will sign a three-year contract with Vissel Kobe, for which he will charge 15 million euros, according to a newspaper, which also explains that Galatasaray rejected a first offer of the Japanese club of two million euros for not being willing to get rid of the player for less than he costs them (2.5 million).
Podolski, who arrived to the Turkish team in 2015 from Arsenal, quickly won the heart of the fans of the 'Galata' thanks to the great performances he starred and an intense activity in social networks.
However, his time in Turkey also had negative moments, especially related to injuries.
The transfer of the German player was made public only one day after the club announced the dismissal of the coach, Dutch Jan Olde Riekerink, who, according to Turkish media, will be replaced by Croatian Igor Tudor.

Since someone asked me if Qing women went to opium dens, I thought I would answer and put up some of my evidence. Short answer – I don’t think so, at least as customers. Certainly in the Republic, when they started registering opium “addicts” only a very small number of women registered (although their seem to have been women registered everywhere) In Qing pictures, like the ones below, opium smoking places seem to be male spaces, although we do get a picture of a wife showing up at one looking for her husband. There seem to be female attendants/possible prostitutes smoking with men in the classier place. I also include the picture of Mr. Conspicuous Consumption, which students always like. Since I am teaching Early China this semester, I am drawing from Yuri Pines, Envisioning Eternal Empire: Chinese Political Thought of the Warring States Period (University of Hawaii Press, 2009) Pines points out a really good story to use in teaching about who the shi， 士 were. They were, of course the new class of literate experts who started running China in the Warring States. After the Cup Noodle vending machine , I found another very useful Japanese vending machine, also serving hot food, called “24 Hour Hot Menu". It serves yaki onigiri (grilled onigiri ), yakisoba , takoyaki , and a couple of Western dishes, fried potato and hot dog.
