Erwin Miyasaka: Banryutei rock garden

The Zen-style dry gardens (karesansui) are ranging from small dimensions of just a few square meters (the smallest is the Ryōgen-in Totekiko), up to about 2,500 square meters, as this garden of Kongobuji in Koya-san, Wakayama, which is considered to be the largest in Japan. Named Banryutei Rock Garden, the garden represents a pair of dragons rising from the clouds, suggested by 140 granite stones.
